| Profile |
MIROS AS is a high-tech company that provides advanced systems and remote sensing equipment sensors for the offshore and marine industries. The company’s products include Directional Wave Monitoring sensors, Tide Gauges, Oils Spill Detection systems and Met-Ocean Systems. MIROS is a major supplier of meteorological and oceanographic (Met-Ocean) systems for the Norwegian continental shelf and is a European leader in its field.
MIROS has extensive experience in delivering Met-Ocean systems and can supply and integrate any required sensor into its systems. Modular MIROS systems are delivered with software and displays tailored to individual operator needs, and provide users with real-time and historic data to support Helicopter traffic control, marine operations, search and rescue operations, crane vessel operations and synoptic weather reporting.
MIROS is a leading manufacturer of radar based wave, surface current and air gap sensors. The Miros SM-050 Wave and Surface Current Radar and The WAVEX system are sensors that measure directional waves, wave spectra and surface current. Both sensors are available for onshore locations, for fixed and floating platforms and FPSOs. The Wavex is also well suited for ships – even at high speed.
The MIROS Range finer is a highly accurate sensor for combined or individual measurement of non-directional waves, air gap, draughts, storm surges, tide and water level. It comes in several versions and has a measurement range of up to 95m.
The MIROS OSD utilises advanced image processing algorithms for detection of oil spill. The system can detect and track oil spills in complete darkness, enabling 24-hours surveillance or recovery operations. The efficiency of clean-up operations is increased, and the extent of environmental impact reduced. |
