| Profile |
Quality Positioning Services BV (QPS), headquartered in Zeist, The Netherlands, is an independent software company founded in 1986. QPS subsidiary offices are located in Portsmouth, USA and in Fredericton, Canada. QPS focuses on the design and development of software solutions and the integration of survey sensors used for hydrogeomatic surveys, Portable Pilot Units and Electronic Navigation Chart (ENC) production. QPS is seen globally as a market leader in these fields.
In 2011, QPS merged its activities with IVS3D, thereby extending its product range with the industry-leading Fledermaus software suite. In 2012, QPS partnered with Esri whose ArcGIS for Maritime is part of the ArcGIS system, that aims to solve problems and gain efficiencies for ocean, marine, hydrographic and related business.
QPS QINSy navigation and positioning software is used on board vessels engaged in marine construction, cable & pipe-lay, drilling rigs, seismic research and coastal & hydrographic survey. Commercial, academic and government organisations use QPS Fledermaus thanks to its support of a wide variety of industry standard data exchange formats and its extensive functionality. QPS Qastor is used by marine pilots during complex docking operations, as well as other general purpose navigational tasks. The Connect Server for Qastor is the managed hub for many different data sources (VTS, meteorological, ENC updates, etc.) and organises the distribution to connected clients, including marine pilots using Qastor aboard ships. Most recently, QPS has delivered a Route Planning & Management system for vessel fleet managers, using Qastor and the Connect Server technology.
