9th Member for IFHS

The Association Francophone de l'Hydrographie has joined the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS). The French association is the 9th member of IFHS, which is growing internationally. The announcement was made by Rob van Ree, president of the IFHS, at the closing of Hydro 15 in Cape Town, South Africa, on 25 November 2015. Other members of the IFHS are the societies of the UK; Germany; Italy; Denmark; The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg; Australia; Korea; and South Africa.

Rob van Ree also announced a new form of cooperation with the Hydrographic Society of America, which is not a member of the IFHS, on a worldwide hydrographic conference in 2020 as a joint effort to bring the global community of hydrographers together in one place.
