Deepwater Current Survey in Vietnam

Fugro GEOS has signed a contract and begun work on the provision of a year-long programme of deepwater current measurements at two blocks off the southern coast of Vietnam. At these deepwater blocks, currents will be measured from seabed to surface, with sampling configured to capture any soliton (internal wave) activity.

The data will be used for future exploration-drilling operations as well as for design purposes, if development plans move forward. The two deepwater current moorings are similar to those designed and deployed by Fugro GEOS in a number of locations in South-East Asia including the Makassar Straits, Indonesia, Timor Sea and offshore Sabah Malaysia.
