Dolphin Geophysical Newbuild Name

Dolphin Geophysical, Norway, has announced the name of vessel NB533 as M/V Polar Duchess. The vessel option expires on 1st November and it is highly likely the company is to exercise the option.

Good progress in the Factorias Volcano yard, Spain, safeguards a Q4 delivery ready for the North Sea season at the end Q1 2012.  She will be the sistership to the company's flagship vessel M/V Polar Duke.

M/V Polar Duke is a purpose-built high-end 3D vessel, capable of towing fourteen streamers at 100 metre separation. Rigged with Sercel SSAS Sentinel streamers and an impressive bollard pull of approximately 210 Tonnes, M/V Polar Duke and M/V Polar Duchess will undoubtedly be some of the most efficient vessels available to the market.
