Multi Purpose Towed Vehicle

The Observer III Mariscope proposes a solution for scientists that need an underwater MPV. The unit is equipped with 2 HD cameras and 4 HD high output LED lights, apart from batteries and control electronics, facilitating to have one camera looking forward and the other one looking backward. The Observer III can also be equipped with standard Oceanographic sensors like CTDs, CO2, Methane sensors, tracking systems and others.

The vehicle can be used as stand-alone unit which is attached to trawl nets during the trawl in order to observe the behavior of the net. The control unit controls the power, switch on and off of the camera and lights and the correct functioning of the compass and depth meter.

The same unit came be converted by the customer in an online towed vehicle, for ground inspections or fast overfly of areas of interest. The Observer III is delivered with a towing cable that transmits the video images live to the surface. When used with this configuration, the vehicle gets its power from the surface and compass and depth information is overlaid to the video streaming.

Recording takes place at the surface and underwater (HD).

This observation class ROV, is a widely used system  due to its robustness and longevity. All the system components are modular and interchangeable. Wireless controls and video transmission to video glasses are part of the optional equipment offered by Mariscope.

The complete system has been designed, developed and built in Germany. Frame and most of the components of the vehicle are manufactured of stainless steel and hand welded with TIG technology in order to warranty the durability.
