Seabed Investigations off NW Australia

Fugro has been awarded a combined geophysical and geotechnical project by Hess Exploration Australia Pty Ltd (Hess) to assist in activities in the Northern Carnarvon Basin offshore Northwest Australia. Fugro’s work will comprise seabed and shallow geological investigations, including in areas of difficult terrain.

For the first phase of the survey Fugro will utilise one of its Hugin 1000 AUVs to map the seabed. The data will be used to optimise planning for the subsequent sediment sampling phase where a variety of techniques will be used. Fugro’s geoconsultancy team will also deliver an integrated data model for input to Hess’s ongoing analysis.

The project is scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2016.
