Dolphin Geophysical Christens M/V Polar Duchess

Dolphin Geophysical christened M/V Polar Duchess at Vågen, Bergen, Norway, on 30 March 2012. Many attended the special occasion, which marked the launch of the sister ship to the company’s flagship vessel. She is already contracted to TGS and will commence her upcoming survey in the Barents Sea imminently.

Professor Gunn Mangerud kindly assumed the position of Godmother to the vessel.

M/V Polar Duchess is a purpose-built high-end 3D vessel capable of towing 14 streamers at 100metre separation. She is rigged with Sercel SSAS Sentinel streamers and the sister ship to M/V Polar Duke, which is one of the most efficient vessels available to the market.
