Multirole DP2 Vessel Arrives at MG3

As part of its strategic growth, MG3 has expanded its technical capability and range of services and taken delivery of the DP2 vessel MV Ocean Spirit complete with geotechnical site investigation equipment spread. The multirole DP2 vessel Ocean Spirit (formerly MV Highland Spirit) is the latest addition to the DP fleet MG3 offers to the marine geoscience and ROV survey industry.

The multipurpose DP2 vessel Ocean Spirit will provide clients with a modern cost-effective and integrated and flexible solutions for geophysical site surveys, environmental and geotechnical borehole site investigations together with ROV capabilities. The Ocean Spirit is well proven for providing high quality geotechnical investigations and geophysics surveys with excellent DP station keeping and versatile layout. MG3 are immediately implementing upgrades to the vessel and equipment spread and vessel will be made immediately available to the market before end May 2016. Emphasis is on quality and safety with vessel class to DNV and management by Neptune ehf and operations in accordance with MG3 TQM and ISO accreditation for ISO 9001 and 14001 and OHSAS 18001.

The vessel will be able to provide a range of services to the offshore industry in the Oil & Gas, renewables, telecommunications and port authorities/dredging/infrastructure sectors. The vessel has good accommodation, onboard geotechnical laboratory and has permanent fully heave compensated geotechnical rig and CPTU system and will be equipped with multibeam and 2D high resolution seismic and geophysics survey spread, environmental equipment plus inspection/work class ROV.
