| Oceans cover almost three-quarters of the surface of the Earth and nearly half of the world’s marine waters are over 3,000 metres deep. The deep ocean holds many mysteries that researchers have only just begun to recognise. The new technologies and tools being developed and published have provided scientists with new ways to explore areas of the deep ocean never before accessed. For example, Malaysia has a total coastline of about 4,675km, and 13 of its 14 states have a coastline. Yet most of Malaysia’s oceans remain unexplored, with many unknown facts waiting to be discovered. |
This is whereGeoHydrOcean Services (GHOS) steps in. We explore the depth of the oceans in the quest to discover new scientific facts.
