We are currently recruiting the following roles
 

This role is primarily responsible for hydrographic data processing and online data quality control.

The successful candidate may also be required to carry out field-based processing as part of the operations team.  Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position will be based at our UK Offices in Plymouth but may involve some travel.

The Person

Experienced in, data quality control, processing and management, the successful candidate will have a  degree or equivalent in Hydrography or Surveying  or a similar discipline. They will also have or be developing a track-record in practical hydrography.  System specific training will be provided.

The successful candidate will have a passion for intricacy and detail - they will be happy working in a small, highly professional and focused team, possess a full, clean driving license and thrive on travel overseas. They will also have:

  • Experience with bathymetric LiDAR, Multi-beam and single beam surveying
  • Confidence and capability to organise and manage large data sets
  • Some good knowledge or working experience with GIS
  • Some experience of data processing software: (CARIS HiPS) and/or LiDAR data (TerraScan)
  • A good working knowledge of Topographic survey and processing
  • Flexible approach to working hours, location and conditions commensurate with successful field operations

The Role

 

This position will be based in our Plymouth office although the successful candidate can expect to travel overseas regularly. You will report to the Operations Manager and be responsible for the correct operation of the LiDAR system and on-line quality control of data. You will also assist the Senior Surveyor on routine field tasks. The successful candidate will have a good degree in Hydrographic Survey or a similar discipline, and/or a proven track-record in practical hydrography.  System specific training will be provided.

The successful candidate will be:

 

  • highly resourceful and unflappable
  • known for their attention to detail
  • experienced with bathymetric LiDAR, Multi-beam and single beam surveying
  • capable of managing large data sets
  • able to install and operate horizontal and vertical control systems
  • reasonably well-versed in Topographic survey and processing
  • flexible around working hours, location and conditions commensurate with successful field operations

 

You will enjoy working with a small, highly professional and focused team and ideally you will possess a full, clean driving license
