Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Defining functions from existing ideas or helping to develop new ideas based on industry experience and most importantly by contact with customers and prospects
• Researching the market to understand their needs and problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
• Communicate effectively with all areas of the company to ensure desired results are met
• Follow documented CARIS ISO Software Development Processes
• Work with a development counterpart to define product release requirements
• Work with marketing and communications personnel to define the go-to-market strategy including developing white papers
• Ensure excellent quality of all technical aspects of the product, including stability, usability, and documentation.
• Ensure compatibility and consistency of the product, and its releases, with the company’s other products, with respect to workflow, terminology, user interface, etc.
• Responsible for the overall success of the product

Skills and Knowledge:

• Excellent technical aptitude and analytical skills
• Superior communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Good project management skills
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to present papers and courses on the product
• Collaborative team approach

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in a Geospatial related field
• Minimum 3 years industry related experience; Surveying, Cartography, Hydrography, GIS, Environmental Science
• Fluent English skills, oral and written

The following would be considered and asset:

• Experience with the CARIS product suite and/or experience with similar geospatial software applications
• Bilingual language capabilities, specifically in French or Spanish
