General Position Summary
The Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) & Base Support Services Manager acts as the focal point for HSEQ within the company and provides advice and guidance to the management team. Incumbent is responsible for maintaining and monitoring the effective implementation of the company HSEQ Management System and representing the company on all HSEQ Issues when dealing with clients and government departments. Also responsible for maintaining an asset management system, equipment calibration registers, and engineering maintenance schedules. Additional responsibilities include providing general technical support of all survey and engineering department shipping and receiving.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other certification bodies.
- Oversee the maintenance of the HSEQ Management System and ensure that it is maintained within OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Ensure that published system documents are kept up to date with current management Policies and Practices and Legislation.
- Coordinate and assist Project Managers in the preparation, and review of client issued requests for quote by Commercial Manager to ensure all quality and HSEQ requirements have been addressed and understood.
- Source and arrange external safety training for staff as required.
- Oversee the FSSI asset database system, ensuring current status and location of all FSSI survey and field equipment.
- Oversee shipping, receiving, distribution, restocking, ordering, and system status identification.
- Repair and maintenance of engineering survey equipment.
- Acts as a point-of-contact for the company's Pier 69 facilities management.

- Possess strong interpersonal skills that include the ability to work effectively with clients, peers, subordinates, and superiors from a variety of cultures.
- Strong problem solving skills, supervisory management skills, and the ability to multi-task and delegate.
- Must be highly organized and able to work with deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Fluent in written and spoken English, and computer literate.
- Strong database management skills.
- Mechanical aptitude involving a wide range of survey systems hand tools, and test equipment.
- Flexibility with changing schedules and work situations.
Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc. in Engineering discipline
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 2 years of proven management experience
- Strong knowledge of HSEQ standards and HSE legislation as well as marine survey practices, equipment, and requirements
- Must be able to legally work in the U.S. or current Fugro employee
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen (required)
Job Conditions
- Predominately normal office working conditions.
- Domestic and International travel for extended periods
- Job may require hours exceeding 8 hours per day, and/or 40 hours per week.
