General Position Summary
The Manager is responsible for all data solutions initiatives and workflow processes that enhance the department s deliverables to the client. The incumbent is responsible for the supervision of the data solutions employees and the day-to-day control over data processing activities.
Essential Functions
- Develop and implement clear departmental objectives, and execute key business goals and directives with exceptional delivery and service
- Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership on all data solutions projects and initiatives to ensure they are in alignment with the business objectives and benefit from the input of cross-functional teams from inception through implementation
- Knowledge of requirements, and management of multiple simultaneous data processing projects
- Ensure conformance to quality and contract criteria for all aspects of data processing, interpretation and presentation
- Mentor, train, and promote appropriate employee professional development to enable employees to give their best in meeting company commitments
- Pre-survey set-up activities including the preparation of offshore deliverables, implementation of survey parameters (geodesy, gridding sizes, etc.)
- Management of 3rd party data used for positioning, desktops, charting and reporting.
- Archiving and database maintenance of all survey projects
- Evaluate processes and software for data acquisition and processing, and recommend improvements
- Interacts directly with Technology department in consultation on software and hardware requirements
Actively participate in implementation and improvements of FSSI s HSEQ Management System
Specific Job Skills
- Competency with NT platforms
- Knowledge of GIS and CAD software
- A logical mind with a high level of initiative, adaptability and competency with an eye for detail
- Possess strong interpersonal skills that include the ability to work effectively with peers, subordinates, and superiors.
- Fluent in written and spoken English
Minimum Requirements
- B.Sc. Earth Sciences, or related field with interest/experience in data analysis
- 5+ years of applicable work experience in a marine-related position
- Experience with data processing and/or cartography
- 5 years experience managing and supervising a team or department and administering a budget
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Ability to legally work in the US or a current Fugro employee
Job Conditions
- Predominately normal office working conditions.
- Up to five months at sea aboard a ship in close quarters.
- Physical requirements for mobilizing and demobilizing a vessel can be strenuous.
- International travel, often to remote locations.
- Position is salaried, non-exempt and may require hours exceeding 8 hours per day, and/or 40 hours per week.
This is a management level position reporting directly to the President.
