Black Laser Learning completely revised the entire approach with better graphics and easier to follow explanations, so the second edition emphasises the company's enhanced training techniques.
With input from dozens of customers Black Laser Learning was able to refine the program so as to better explain the concepts. New animations and graphics give the viewer a clearer understanding of sonar imagery and better compliment the verbal explanations. Additionally the lesson plan and chapters have been revised for better continuity.
The programme is hosted by Vincent Capone who has over 20 years sonar and hydrographic experience along with a Master's Degree in Marine Science. Vince has been side-scan sonar instructor for the US Navy, US Army Corps of Engineers, US EPA, Israeli Navy, Korean Navy, Irish Navy as well as numerous commercial groups. He has also worked with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Justice. In addition to teaching sonar, Vince has also taught at Dowling College and the Isle of Shoals Marine Laboratory.
