First Argentinian Metocean Data Buoy Sale07/11/2007 |
| Following an international review of buoy suppliers, Argentina's Subtronic S.A. has contracted AXYS to supply a WatchKeeper oceanographic and meteorological data collection buoy. The 1.7m diameter WatchKeeper will support offshore oil & gas exploration activities in approximately 100m of water. The solar-powered buoy is equipped with a variety of sensors, including sea temperature, directional waves, currents, wind speed & direction, relative humidity and air temperature. |
|
Data from the sensors is collected by AXYS' proprietary WatchMan500 data acquisition system and transmitted to a shore station by Iridium and/or Inmarsat D+ satellite telemetry. Authorized users can access buoy data from their office in real time. The project was coordinated by Dr.Michael Reynolds of Remote Measurement and Research Co. of Seattle, Washington.
AXYS recently appointed Subtronic as their exclusive agent in Argentina. AXYS Field Service Specialists will train Subtronic's personnel in late 2007 and assist in deploying the buoy.
