Canadian ENCs Added to UKHO Database

As new cells continue to pour into the service from all over the world, the Admiralty ENC and ECDIS services offer the most comprehensive offical coverage available from any provider in the world today. With electronic chart production at full tilt around the globe, the Canadian cells bring the number of high quality, official cells within the Admiralty ENC and ECDIS services to more than 7,700.

Canada is a country with one of the longest navigable coastlines in the world, bordering the Atlantic, Arctic and Pacific Oceans. These 680 ENCs will provide coverage of the eastern seaboard (including the Gulf of St Lawrence, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland), the St Lawrence River and Great Lakes, western seaboard (British Columbia coast) and some Arctic coverage. They include the St Lawrence Seaway which is of vital geographic and economic importance providing navigation to ocean-going vessels. Combined the St Lawrence River and Seaway is at 2,340 miles the world's longest deep draft inland waterway, stretching past Quebec, Montreal and Toronto and bordering the USA. Also included in these ENCs is Vancouver, in British Columbia, which is also the sixth largest on the Pacific coast of North America by cargo volume.
