PDS2000 contract by Van Oord28/02/2008 |
| The dredging and marine contractor Van Oord decided to upgrade their RESON PDS2000 single-beam licenses to full PDS2000 multi-beam licenses. In addition they also purchased the new PDS2000 interactive 3D area editor which includes the CUBE option and 3D profile box. |

Van Oord uses multi-beam surveys to measure the progress of their dredging and marine activities, such as land reclamation, coastal and shore protection and the construction and maintenance of ports and waterways.
The company has recently completed the prestigious land reclamation project The World in the emirate of Dubai, which has been surveyed with RESON SeaBat 8125 systems. Data is collected with PDS2000 MB and processed on site. Van Oord decided to add the CUBE option for fast, reliable and interactive data processing of the large multibeam data sets. Using the CUBE algorithm the module creates a DTM which is used to automatically process the multi-beam data. The results are operator independent. The CUBE option is an add-on to PDS2000 Multibeam 3D Area interactive area editor.
