Record Year Performance for Hallin

  26/03/2008
At the first day of Oceanology, Hallin Marine's chairman, Tony Ebel, announced record profits and turnover for the Aim-listed provider of subsea solutions to the oil and gas industry. Mr Ebel took the opportunity to express Hallin's confidence in the future, saying he saw ‘exciting opportunities' over the next three years.

Hallin announced a profit increase of 157% and increased its turnover by two thirds to USD64 million. The company, with its major operating centres in Singapore and Aberdeen, has continued it aggressive growth strategy.

It has set up a manufacturing facility in Singapore to build ROVs, which complements its existing saturation diving system construction arm, and is currently having two diving support vessels built, the SOV Ullswater and the SOV Windermere.

Mr Ebel said that Hallin is looking forward with confidence and optimism to 2008 and beyond. The strength of the subsea oil and gas market around the world promises to provide exciting opportunities for Hallin and the new operating assets the company have coming into service over the next three years.

Demo of RIEGL Airborne Bathy Scanner in Camcopter UAV

It's not an AUV but an UAV. So an unmanned vehicle, but in the air instead of underwater. This movie shows a demonstration of the bathymetric laser scanning capabilities of the RIEGL VQ-820-GU hydrographic airborne sensor in reality. For more information on the technical side, please see the news release on Hydro International.
