Appointments for Sonardyne Strategic Development Team

Eric Levitt and Ross Gooding have joined the successful strategic development team of Sonardyne Group Ltd. They have joined the company to add their skills to Sonardyne's business development in North America and Europe respectively.
 

Eric Levitt is based in North America and joins Sonardyne from Kongsberg where he was responsible for raising market awareness for a range of maritime security solutions. He has an in-depth appreciation of the complex issues facing industry and the potential solutions  that will be applied to the market development of Sentinel, Sonardyne's new underwater security system. Eric's focus on the North America market will be supported by Sonardyne's subsidiary based in Houston (TX, USA) with provision for spares, repair and project/engineering support.

 

Ross Gooding is based in the UK and makes the move to Sonardyne following a successful period at Qinetiq when he was responsible for opening the maritime security marketplace for one of the world's largest defence technology companies. Ross's background in port engineering and superyacht security adds to the already substantial capability of the team.

Hydrographic Survey for Riverbed Erosion

 

U.S. Geological Survey were out on the Missouri River at Williston, North Dakota, USA, performing a hydrographic survey to monitor the state of riverbed erosion. They were using a multibeam echo sounder which transmits sound energy and analyzes the return signal (echo) that has bounced off the riverbed or other objects. Multibeam sonars emit sound waves from directly beneath a ship's hull to produce fan-shaped coverage of the riverbed.
