Side-scan Sonar Demonstrations

  19/03/2009
During Ocean Business 2009, L-3 Klein will be running live demonstrations of the L-3 Klein System 5000 V-2. The demonstrations will be conducted on-board the Bill Conway on Tuesday, 31st March at 1530, Wednesday, 1st April at 1400 and Thursday, 2nd April at 1030.

The L-3 Klein System 5000 V2, with the added swath bathymetric capability, employs advanced Interferometric signal processing to produce simultaneous estimates of the seabed topography out to the full swath extent of the sonar, typically 10 to 12 times the overall altitude of the tow fish. This added seabed topographic measurement is post processed and co-registered with the side can backscatter imagery to more accurately position seabed targets.

This added seabed topographic measurement capability is extremely advantageous when performing missions involving shallow water and/or rapid area assessments. Co-exhibiting with Electronic Design Systems, booth# L13, L-3 Klein will also be available during the exhibition to answer any questions regarding the L-3 Klein product offerings, including the  planned release of the L-3 Klein System 5900.

Registration for the vessel demonstrations can be made in the booth.
