ROVINS GYRO/INS

  31/03/2009
On the opening day of Ocean Business 2009 in Southampton (UK), IXSEA launched ROVINS, a combined survey-grade gyrocompass and Inertial Navigation System (INS) for depths to 3,000m. Designed specifically for offshore survey and construction activities, ROVINS can significantly improve the efficiency of all operations, surface or subsea, requiring accurate position, heading and attitude information.

Ixsea Premier

ROVINS builds upon the company's OCTANS gyrocompass and PHINS INS architecture and offers interfaces to standard surface and subsea positioning and aiding sensors. ROVINS integral web based configuration software offers an instant interface via any web browser.

IXSEA's Fiber Optic Gyroscope (FOG) and ‘strap-down' inertial technology makes ROVINS both robust and truly maintenance free. The company's inertial navigation capability, proven over many years in applications both surface and subsea, has been further refined.

Applications are ROV & Offshore Survey; multi-beam and sonar motion reference; dredging; subsea engineering.
