Vitrovex Glass Spheres30/06/2009 |
| RS Aqua has received orders month of June for 100+ Vitrovex glass spheres from three of the UK's leading ocean research centres; the National Oceanography Centre (Southampton), the Scottish Association for Marine Science (Oban) and the Proudman Ocean Laboratory (Liverpool). The supplies cover a mix of buoyancy and housing applications. |
|
In RS Aqua's experience, buoyancy applications account for the higher volume of sales where the efficient buoyancy to weight ratio makes glass such an attractive solution. However, it is in the area of instrument housings that Vitrovex excels over competition. UK users (POL, OceanLab, CEFAS, SAMS, UEA and many more) testify to the engineering quality of the housings supplied with crafted drill holes and flat grounds for electrical, pressure and vacuum feedthroughs.
