Hydro09 Extends

  07/07/2009
Hydro09 in Cape Town, South Africa is approaching its ‘fully booked' status. However, the organisers are shifting the limits as on the exhibition area, six more booths will be added. Paper abstracts are coming in (close to 30 already received) but there are 40 slots, so Hydro09 encourages more submissions. Abstract deadline has been revised to 31 July 09.

Exhibitors that will have to register as delegates as per the online delegate form. There also are some boats available for charter for equipment demonstrations. Please contact the Organizing Committee to find out vessel specification and costs. The organisers also have revised up the potential delegates numbers from 250 to 300.

The Plenary Speakers are finalised and key note speakers on stage will be: Capt. Robert Ward (IHB); Capt. Abri Kampfer (Hydrographer SAN); Capt. Andy Armstrong (NOAA).

Sponsorship opportunities are sill available, for more information interested companies can contact the Organizing Committee via admin@hydro9.co.za

Accommodation around the Conference Venue is already almost fully booked and those that have not already booked air flights and accommodation will certainly find it more and more difficult to make arrangements as we approach the summer period in Cape Town.

Those delegate partners that would like to attend the Banquet Dinner at Spier Wine Farm and also the closing ceremony on Robben Island (inclusive of Tour of Prison facilities) need to indicate to the Organisers well in advance that they would like to be included in the festivities. As space is limited (about 300 tickets available for each of the two events), delegates will get first booking preference with Partners taking up any left-over tickets. With anticipated delegate numbers close to 300, we cannot guarantee that there will be many unsold tickets available for last minute participants.

For those that would like to attend pre and post conference workshops, IVS and HYPACK will be running workshops on the Monday 9th November (HYPACK and IVS) as well as Friday 13th Nov (HYPACK). The traditional HYDRO Golf Tournament will be held on Monday 9th Nov. This is guaranteed to be a fun-filled day with some great prizes!
