Management Change for ODIM ASA

  27/07/2009
Jogeir Romestrand has decided to step down as CEO of ODIM ASA (Norway) after 24 years with the company. Arild Hatløy has been appointed acting CEO. Born in 1961, Hatløy has been with ODIM since 1992 and has served as chief financial officer of the company since 2003.

Karl Erik Kjelstad, chair of ODIM ASA said that under Jogeir Romestrand's dynamic leadership, ODIM has become renowned for its bold combination of innovation and operational development. He adds that with Rolls Royce as a new major shareholder, the company is entering a new phase, a right time for a change of leadership.

Hatløy has been appointed acting CEO with immediate effect, while retaining his current role as CFO. He has a solid industry track record and in-depth knowledge of ODIM through his seventeen years with the company, and the board is very pleased that he has agreed as its acting CEO.

Romestrand will continue to work for ODIM in an advisory capacity for a time in order to ensure a smooth transition. Meanwhile, the board will immediately start the process of appointing a new permanent CEO for ODIM ASA.

Hatløy has worked in ODIM since 1992 as finance manager and vice president. He also has experience from Aker Exclay as controller and from Leca Portugal Ltd as finance director. He has previously worked for accountants Ernst & Young. Hatløy is a Norwegian citizen and resides in Haddal (Norway).

Hydrographic Survey of Riverbed Erosion

Members of the US Geological Survey were filmed while out on the Missouri River at Williston, North Dakota, USA, performing a hydrographic survey to monitor the state of riverbed erosion. They were using a multibeam echo sounder which transmits sound energy and analyses the return signal (echo) that has bounced off the riverbed or other objects. Multibeam sonars emit sound waves from directly beneath a ship's hull to produce fan-shaped coverage of the riverbed.

Gauge height at the Williston gauge was approximately 27.65 feet when this video was taken. Additional information about the USGS streamgauge at Williston is available at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nd/nwis?program=nwisman&site_no=06330000
