Jobs for Buoys

  05/08/2009
Planet Ocean (UK) sees an increase in sales of their OEM data buoy hulls with sales to Africa, Singapore, Greece, Germany, Ireland, and of course the UK in the past few months. Buoys have been supplied for lakes, estuaries coastal and open ocean applications.

Jobs for Buoys - DB-125

The company continues to develop the range with a new pre-ballasted multi point keel for the popular DB-125 (shown) which allows the buoy to be deployed with an all rope mooring for sensitive acoustic projects and a large sealed equipment pod for mounting inside the mid-section of the larger DB-XXX range to further increase the payload capacity.

Demo of RIEGL Airborne Bathy Scanner in Camcopter UAV

It's not an AUV but an UAV. So an unmanned vehicle, but in the air instead of underwater. This movie shows a demonstration of the bathymetric laser scanning capabilities of the RIEGL VQ-820-GU hydrographic airborne sensor in reality. For more information on the technical side, please see the news release on Hydro International.
