| Following an international competition, NTU has selected Axys' Triaxys directional wave sensor to measure the waves generated by typhoons approaching the coast of Taiwan. The Triaxys sensor will be integrated onto NTU's modified Atlas (Autonomous Temperature Line Acquisition System) metocean buoy. |
Atlas is a 2.3m diameter toroid fabricated with fiberglass over a foam core. Axys' proprietary Triaxys wave sensor will deliver the highly accurate directional wave data required for scientific research and weather forecasting.
Axys' exclusive representative in Taiwan, Sino Instruments Co. Ltd. facilitated the purchase and will also assist NTU with the integration of the sensor. Terms of the contract are confidential.
