Integration – IMCA Annual Seminar

  26/10/2009
‘Integrated Marine Operations’ is the theme on which senior industry speakers (including IMCA President Johan Rasmussen of Acergy, Alvaro Teixeira of IBP, Giorgio Martelli of Saipem and Steve Preston of Heerema Marine Contractors) will speak during the opening keynote session at next month’s IMCA Annual Seminar.

The seventeenth annual seminar, taking place on 4-5 November at the Sofitel Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana, Brazil, has already attracted over 270 delegates and speakers from 22 countries. It is endorsed by Instituto Brasileiro de Petró, Gás e Biocombustíveis (IBP), International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (OGP).

"An exciting and highly relevant programme has been developed covering all aspects of today's marine contracting industry, addressing the range of achievements and issues faced as the global industry explores new frontiers - ever deeper water, harsher environments and cutting edge technical developments," explains Jane Bugler, IMCA's Technical Director. "Once again, the seminar is bringing together engineers, managers and offshore personnel from contractors, clients, consultants, equipment manufacturers, regulators and elsewhere from around the global industry.

As in previous years, the Seminar features a variety of presentation sessions including diving and ROV/survey sessions, as well as topic-specific workshops and a variety of social and networking events. Simultaneous translation from English to Portuguese will be provided during the presentation sessions.

The seminar includes an exhibition with nearly 30 exhibitors who are supplier members of IMCA. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn more about the latest developments and the range of products and services on offer during all conference breaks.

Delegates have three evenings of networking ahead of them as well as opportunities to share ideas informally during lunch and coffee breaks during the day. All are invited to a poolside drinks and buffet reception on the evening of Tuesday 3 November. They can then look forward to the seminar dinner in the Porcao Rio restaurant on Wednesday 4 November and a drinks and buffet reception onboard Spirit of Brazil on the evening of Thursday 5 November.

Further information on all aspects of the seminar, including online registration, is available on the IMCA website .
