TickIT of Approval for Nautronix Software

  30/12/2009
Nautronix have been certified with the international software standard TickIT in a move to highlight high standards within the organisation. The company who specialise in acoustic signalling technology solutions for communication and positioning in the subsea environment were audited against the TickIT standard which puts best practices into software development, implementation and control processes within an organisation.

Nautronix, who already hold ISO9001:2008, say that the move was important to highlight to their customers and the industry that their software development is of the highest class.

Managing Director, Mark Patterson said “Software is an important and core discipline within Nautronix, this has been demonstrated internally over the last few years with the significant growth in our software department.  We are currently carrying out important development work with NASNet® and MASMUX so it’s important we ensure that we are working to the highest possible standards.  While we have always been confident of our ability to do this the TickIT accreditation allows us to demonstrate to others that we are working to a consistently high level.

“Gaining this standard does not come lightly and I’m impressed with the work the team has carried out over the last year to achieve this.”

Mr Patterson added “We really are ending 2009 on a high note.  We were delighted to get DNV approval for NASMUX and we will continue to work closely with Cameron next year to enter in to full product development over the next couple of years.  In addition we will be trialling a new NASNet® DPR product in January and hope to launch in the first quarter of 2010.  We are very optimistic about the year ahead.”

Demo of RIEGL Airborne Bathy Scanner in Camcopter UAV

It's not an AUV but an UAV. So an unmanned vehicle, but in the air instead of underwater. This movie shows a demonstration of the bathymetric laser scanning capabilities of the RIEGL VQ-820-GU hydrographic airborne sensor in reality. For more information on the technical side, please see the news release on Hydro International.
