Technip USA Extends Master Services Agreement26/01/2010 |
| UTEC Survey has been awarded a two-year extension to its existing Master Service Agreement (MSA) with engineering and construction company, Technip USA (Technip). UTEC will continue to provide an extensive range of survey services, including pre-lay surveys, pipelay support, cut-to-length calculations, as-laid and as-built surveys, acoustic spool piece metrology and onshore dimensional control surveys. |

Offshore work will be conducted from the deepwater pipelay vessel Deep Blue, the deepwater construction vessel Deep Pioneer and other vessels as required.

Hydrographic Survey of Riverbed Erosion |
Members of the US Geological Survey were filmed while out on the Missouri River at Williston, North Dakota, USA, performing a hydrographic survey to monitor the state of riverbed erosion. They were using a multibeam echo sounder which transmits sound energy and analyses the return signal (echo) that has bounced off the riverbed or other objects. Multibeam sonars emit sound waves from directly beneath a ship's hull to produce fan-shaped coverage of the riverbed.
