The Hydrofest program is designed to provide an understanding of all aspects of Hydrographic Surveying for the offshore oil and gas industry. Topics include surface and underwater positioning, sensors, pipeline and site surveys, construction and inspection.
Presenters are drawn from the major operators, contractors and suppliers. This day is ideal for engineers, project managers and professionals in the offshore industry who are involved with survey operations or their associated data, as well as those considering Hydrographic Surveying as a career.

Members of the US Geological Survey were filmed while out on the Missouri River at Williston, North Dakota, USA, performing a hydrographic survey to monitor the state of riverbed erosion. They were using a multibeam echo sounder which transmits sound energy and analyses the return signal (echo) that has bounced off the riverbed or other objects. Multibeam sonars emit sound waves from directly beneath a ship's hull to produce fan-shaped coverage of the riverbed.
