TRIAXYS Currents Buoy Available with Teledyne RDI ADCP10/08/2010 |
| The TRIAXYS Directional Wave Buoy can be ordered with a Monitor 600 KHz Teledyne RD Instruments Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP). The combination can provide accurate, real-time waves and currents data in virtually any water depth, without the need for divers or cables. It can also be easily mobilised for utilisation at a variety of deployment sites. |
![]() Teledyne RDI engineers are finalising the ADCP design and expect to ship the first unit to AXYS in mid-September 2010. Hydrographic Survey of Riverbed Erosion |
Members of the US Geological Survey were filmed while out on the Missouri River at Williston, North Dakota, USA, performing a hydrographic survey to monitor the state of riverbed erosion. They were using a multibeam echo sounder which transmits sound energy and analyses the return signal (echo) that has bounced off the riverbed or other objects. Multibeam sonars emit sound waves from directly beneath a ship's hull to produce fan-shaped coverage of the riverbed.
