Rental Company Extend Success

  22/11/2010
Seafloor Systems recently added 2 x RESON SeaBat 7101-SV high-resolution shallow water Multibeam echo sounder systems, a RESON SeaBat 8160 portable mid-water Multibeam echo sounder, and an Applanix Wavemaster inertial navigation system to its global rental pool.

Multibeam image created using the RESON 8160The SeaBat 7101-SV builds upon the long stable history of the proven SeaBat 8101 workhorse, the system which defined high-productivity shallow water Multibeam. Improvements to the beam forming, the bottom detect algorithms, today's technological advancements in processing power, and the addition of many new performance enhancing features, today's new "SV" processor allows users to get much more use out of their shallow water Multibeam. Focus on data quality, minimizing processing time, reducing installation complexity, and offering high quality backscatter and water column data to meet the growing demands in the industry are all philosophies that were employed in the SeaBat 7101-SV design.

The SeaBat 8160 (image) is the only portable 50kHz Multibeam system that can perform surveys in 1500m to 2500m depths. As the trends for exploration and route surveys are moving into deeper waters, both north and south, there grows a demand for immediate accessibility to quality mid-water Multibeam systems that can be deployed on vessels of opportunity around the world at a moment's notice.

"Does anybody know? Did ARD (American Rental Direct) provide any equipment for this, like portable generators, chiller or air-conditioning equipment? I see them popping up all over on these larger jobs and we have a project for this spring and they gave us great numbers, just looking for first hand experiences with them?" ottowheat - 23/11/2010 - 03:19
