ACE Winches Appoints Country Manager

  25/01/2011
ACE Winches has appointed Håvard Sæverud as country manager of its Norwegian division, ACE Winches Norge AS, operating from its base in Dusavik, Stavanger. Håvard is the latest appointment to a growing team, selected to strengthen ACE Winches' Scandinavian business activities. With a career spanning twelve years, he comes from a background in winching and lifting within the marine and offshore industry, having previously served with Scan Tech AS Stavanger.

New Country Manager Norway for ACE WinchesHis appointment represents an exciting period of growth for ACE Winches as the company works to strategically develop the business from its bases in Turriff and Stavanger.

Håvard said: "Establishing ACE Winches in Norway was an important step in the company's strategy and I am very pleased to be part of this. By bringing bespoke winching solutions and high quality products into the market in Scandinavia, it reinforces ACE Winches' reputation as an innovative company, delivering services that will be attractive to our customers and their projects."

"I joined ACE because of its management strategy, where importance is placed on product development and entry into new markets, based on information received from our clients. The company's recent delivery of its first Active Heave Compensation (AHC) winch system to operations in Angola underpins ACE Winches as an important player in the market when it comes to product development."

ACE Winches' latest expansion stems from the potential for growth and opportunity that the company envisages in the region. With Norwegian analysts predicting an investment of approximately NOK 700 billion on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS) over the next four years, the company's move towards having a more dedicated focus in the region is strategically well-timed.

ACE Winches Norge began trading in March 2010, offering hire fleet services, specialist wire rope spooling services and vessel bollard pull testing up to 700te, whilst also acting as a local showcase for the company's manufactured product range.

Demo of RIEGL Airborne Bathy Scanner in Camcopter UAV

It's not an AUV but an UAV. So an unmanned vehicle, but in the air instead of underwater. This movie shows a demonstration of the bathymetric laser scanning capabilities of the RIEGL VQ-820-GU hydrographic airborne sensor in reality. For more information on the technical side, please see the news release on Hydro International.
