Ralph Rayner AMSI Business Person of the Year

The annual Association of Marine Scientific Industries (AMSI) Business Person of the Year Award was presented to Dr Ralph Rayner by Mr Richard Burt, chairman of AMSI Council, during the Ocean Business Gala evening in the Guildhall,Southampton, UK. Dr Rayner is oceanographer and sector director for Energy and Environment with BMT Group,as well as vice-president of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST).

Richard Burt said that this award is designed to recognise the individual which in the opinion of the adjudicating panel has made a significant contribution to the business of marine science and technology in the UK.

 

Ralph Rayner is working at board level with a number of specialist ocean science and technology businesses. He also is a fellow in the Centre for Analysis of Time Series at the London School of Economics and holds an advisory role with the US Consortium for Ocean Leadership.

 

In his reply, Ralph Rayner expressed to be honoured to receive this award.

 

Ralph Rayner is the fourth recipient after Verha Carter (Intelligent Exhibitions), John Partridge (Sonardyne International) and Matthew Quartley (Valeport).
