| The third, completely revised edition of The Electronic Chart – Fundamentals, Functions, Data and other Essentials: A Textbook for ECDIS Use and Training was officially presented to its authors during a meeting in Hamburg on Friday 6th May 2011. |

Publisher Durk Haarsma presented the new book, that will be of help to all trainers and trainees in navigating in EDCIS to Horst Hecht, Bernhard Berking and Mathias Jonas. Unfortunately US-based author Lee Alexander was not able to join at the offices of the Bundesamt für Seeschiffart und Hydrography, the German Hydrographic Office.
The book is well received and already saw warm interest of new readers that like to get prepared for the obligatory ECDIS on board from 2012 on.
