"We are very much looking forward to welcoming David Loosley to the IMarEST in November," says Professor Chris Hodge, Chairman of the Board of Trustees. "His career spans the Royal Navy, the commercial world, the UKHO, and also non-executive roles within a Primary Care Trust, providing him with a particularly rich mix of experience that will serve him well in his new role with us.

Prior to joining the UKHO, David Loosley was divisional managing director at Williams Lea, a business process outsourcing company, specialising in corporate information.  In this role David had full responsibility for a GBP100m turnover business with almost a thousand personnel based throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe.

Comments (1):

Yes! This means more representation for hydrography. I will be honest, I have been an IMarEST member for years in the hope I might be able to get chartered status one day, but in my opinion they really have not done much for marine sciences in the UK. They are good for international membership etc. A Adrian - 06/10/2011 - 18:14
