Demonstrating a 'Deeper Understanding'

Product specialists will be available to discuss customers' requirements in four dedicated technology zones. In the acoustic positioning and inertial navigation zones, the theme is 'less is more'. Multi-user LBL, Sparse LBL and SPRINT subsea vehicle navigation technologies are field-proven products available to improve the efficiency and lower the costs of field development projects.

Those arriving on the opening day of the show will be amongst the first to see Sonardyne's wireless communications platform which is capable of transferring subsea data at speeds comparable to broadband. Also making their debut at the show will be the uComm range of small, high performance and affordable acoustic modems.

Oil spill prevention and response is a key theme at this year's conference. With this in mind, Sonardyne has chosen OI2012 to premier its Automatic Leak Detection Sonar (ALDS) designed to detect hydrocarbon leaks around offshore installations and pipelines.

Sonardyne's vessel operating in the dock will enable visitors to the show to gain a hands-on view of the new technologies. Predator's demonstration schedule includes: SPRINT acoustically aided INS, 6G multi-user LBL and USBL positioning, autonomous sensor logging and acoustic telemetry. At the Navigation and Positioning conference on Tuesday 13th March, technology development manager, Mark Carter, will be presenting a paper on the operational benefits of SPRINT, Sonardyne's inertial navigation system for subsea vehicles. This is followed by a one-day programme on Wednesday 14th March focusing on technologies for maritime security chaired by Rob Balloch, Sonardyne's strategic business development director. Back on the stand, visitors will be able to interact in real-time with Sonardyne's automated maritime security system, NIDAR, as it maintains watch over a European harbour.
