Senegal 3D Multi-client Agreement

  12/04/2012
Dolphin Geophysical, headquartered in Norway, has signed a new agreement with the Government of Senegal, Petrosen, for the acquisition, processing and marketing of a new 3D multi-client survey over designated deep-water acreage where additional equity is potentially available. The 3D survey is substantially pre-funded.

20120412 dolphin multi-client senegalThese new long-offset 3D data have been designed to image potential submarine turbidite fan plays that have become the focus of industry throughout the West and North-West African region. This 3D dataset will complement the recently acquired NWAAM Regional 2D multi-client survey already fully processed and available over the area.

Data acquisition of this 3D survey is currently about 40% complete and a high-end, onboard processed fast-track volume will be post-stack time migrated and available to pre-funding clients within weeks of completion of the acquisition. This is designed to assist clients' initial 3D interpretation and further enhance their evaluation of the acreage. Full PSTM processing will be undertaken onshore in the UK and jointly quality controlled by Dolphin and its clients' representatives.

Dolphin will make available sample data from this 3D survey at the road-show seminars currently scheduled to take place in London and Houston later this summer when representatives from each of the governments involved in the NWAAM 2D project will be present to promote acreage as well as hold private discussions with interested companies. TGS is Dolphin's partner in the NWAAM 2D regional survey.

Spill Response Baseline Survey

CSIRO from Australia is undertaking a survey tour towards the Australian Bight for a baseline survey looking for oil traces in the water. The surveyors are deploying a CTD and a gravity corer measuring possible traces of oil in the water column. The survey mission also consists of hydrographic mapping techniques, GIS and environmental specialists to make sure the situation before exploration is mapped well in order to know what the environmental consequences of an eventual oil seepage or leak may consist of.
