“Virtue” in this context is environmental awareness. “Venture” is the development of the coast for commercial purposes, benefitting the local and regional economies. “Vision” is the long-term planning development for aesthetic reasons, creating a sustainable future which supports and delights those living and working in the coastal zone.

CEDA Dredging Days have the reputation of being the premier technical forum for presenting and debating new ways of thinking, new innovative approaches, and cutting-edge dredging tools and technology. Representatives of contractors, consultants, universities, research institutes and public authorities working in the fields of dredging, offshore oil and gas production, infrastructure development and trade, and sustainable energy production are invited to submit papers for this year’s conference, taking account of the concept of “Virtue, Venture and Vision in the Coastal Zone”.

For full details of how to submit abstracts and papers, and the terms and conditions, prospective authors should visit the conference website. Titles and abstracts (maximum 300 words) of papers should be submitted on-line by 1 June 2012.

Demo of RIEGL Airborne Bathy Scanner in Camcopter UAV

It's not an AUV but an UAV. So an unmanned vehicle, but in the air instead of underwater. This movie shows a demonstration of the bathymetric laser scanning capabilities of the RIEGL VQ-820-GU hydrographic airborne sensor in reality. For more information on the technical side, please see the news release on Hydro International.
