Middle East to Host CEDA Dredging Days 201230/04/2012 |
| On 12 and 13 December 2012, CEDA will be organising its Dredging Days 2012 conference and exhibition in Abu Dhabi,United Arab Emirates. An optional technical visit will be organised in the afternoon on the second day of the conference. Prospective authors are invited to contribute to the programme. The theme of the conference is 'Virtue, Venture and Vision in the Coastal Zone'. Deadline for submitting abstracts is 1 June 2012. |

“Virtue” in this context is environmental awareness. “Venture” is the development of the coast for commercial purposes, benefitting the local and regional economies. “Vision” is the long-term planning development for aesthetic reasons, creating a sustainable future which supports and delights those living and working in the coastal zone.
CEDA Dredging Days have the reputation of being the premier technical forum for presenting and debating new ways of thinking, new innovative approaches, and cutting-edge dredging tools and technology. Representatives of contractors, consultants, universities, research institutes and public authorities working in the fields of dredging, offshore oil and gas production, infrastructure development and trade, and sustainable energy production are invited to submit papers for this year’s conference, taking account of the concept of “Virtue, Venture and Vision in the Coastal Zone”.
For full details of how to submit abstracts and papers, and the terms and conditions, prospective authors should visit the conference website. Titles and abstracts (maximum 300 words) of papers should be submitted on-line by 1 June 2012.
A technical visit will be organised to one of the many interesting projects inAbu Dhabion Thursday 13 December 2012 in the afternoon, hosted by National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC). The accompanying persons’ programme will include visits to places of interest inAbu Dhabi. A reception is planned for Thursday evening.
To complement the conference, a technical exhibition will be located next to the technical session room. The central location of the exhibition area will provide organisations with an opportunity to present their products and services to a select and focused group of international experts and decision makers. Space is limited and will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
