| CARIS has added Rear Admiral (Retd) Ian Moncrieff, chief executive of the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO), to the CARIS 2012 opening session. He became the chief executive of the UKHO in October 2011. He previously held the positions of UK National Hydrographer and chief operating officer. He has a long and distinguished naval and joint operations background spanning more than 30 years, of which 20 have been seagoing. |

Rear Admiral Moncrieff will be joined by the Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans of Canada, as well as John Delaney, Professor of Oceanography at the University of Washington. The opening session will offer a variety of perspectives from industry.
