The International Navigation Simulator Lecturer Conference, INSLC 17, is to be held at Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Dept. of Maritime Studies, specifically at the Maritime Simulation Centre Warnemuende (MSCW), Rostock, Germany, from 3 to 7 September 2012.

The event includes interesting conference sessions, a technical tour and an attractive social/technical programme. The final technical tour is organised by bus to visit the SMM 2012, 25th Shipbuilding, Machinery & Marine Technology, the International Trade Fair Hamburg, at the Hamburg Fair site on 7 September 2012. The return trip can be used to stay for an individual weekend in Hamburg after the technical tour before departure.

The website offers all information on the provisional programme, registration and travel, hotel and other necessary information. The hotels, the Conference Centre TPW and the simulation centre MSCW are all within walking distance (max. 15 min). General announcements and information will be sent regularly by email after registration and the information on the conference website will be updated regularly.

Registration for the conference is appreciated as soon as possible. The conference fee can be reduced due to sponsors of this event (EUR350 for participants, including all conference events, meals dinners, proceedings and tours and EUR100 for an 'extra accompanying person' programme).

Demo of RIEGL Airborne Bathy Scanner in Camcopter UAV

It's not an AUV but an UAV. So an unmanned vehicle, but in the air instead of underwater. This movie shows a demonstration of the bathymetric laser scanning capabilities of the RIEGL VQ-820-GU hydrographic airborne sensor in reality. For more information on the technical side, please see the news release on Hydro International.
