A shame Diving has taken such a tumble.. Not really involved at all now.. Adrian Elward - 18/03/2010 - 18:54

Good show again and certainly up to expectations business-wise - the venue is excellent for the exhibition but the social side is still lacking in character, had a good number of comments on the "old Brighton" venue, perhaps that is just nostalgia surfacing ? Don Mackay - 18/03/2010 - 18:14

This was a good show with the venue improving each year. Unfortunately I was called away late on the first day, but fortunately had already been visited by several key customers and been able to show them new products. Where else can you get a concentration of interested visitors in one place? Kelso Riddell - Ocean Instruments Ltd - 18/03/2010 - 14:11

Hydrographic Survey of Riverbed Erosion

Members of the US Geological Survey were filmed while out on the Missouri River at Williston, North Dakota, USA, performing a hydrographic survey to monitor the state of riverbed erosion. They were using a multibeam echo sounder which transmits sound energy and analyses the return signal (echo) that has bounced off the riverbed or other objects. Multibeam sonars emit sound waves from directly beneath a ship's hull to produce fan-shaped coverage of the riverbed.

Gauge height at the Williston gauge was approximately 27.65 feet when this video was taken. Additional information about the USGS streamgauge at Williston is available at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nd/nwis?program=nwisman&site_no=06330000
