Cake-cutting Ceremony for HIPS Essential

Teledyne CARIS has presented HIPS Essential, the newest edition to the flagship HIPS and SIPS suite of products, by officially cutting the cake during Ocean Business. The package has been designed with the needs of ports and waterways, small survey companies and small hydrographic offices in mind.

For the introduction Mark Pronk, sales manager for The Netherlands, gave a demonstration to the audience. Then Trish Groves, sales manager for the UK, explained the new package and cut the cake.

HIPS Essential is a lightweight subset of the powerful HIPS and SIPS application. It is ideally suited for organisations or individuals wanting a streamlined software package for bathymetry processing. HIPS Essential includes the tools necessary to support both singlebeam and multibeam sonar data including the necessary calibration routines required to deliver accurate data. It supports 2D and 3D visualisation, data cleaning, and provides the tools to extract contours, soundings and bathymetric surfaces for downstream product creation. It also includes the powerful CUBE surface-cleaning tool to further reduce the data processing timeline. End-to-end process automation can be achieved with the new Process Designer, maximizing time management and user reducing subjectivity.

"We have spent 25 years producing HIPS and SIPS software with a huge number of tools and possibilities. We felt it was time to release a lightweight version to address the specific needs of those tasked with straight forward bathymetry surveys while at the same time eliminating the burden of entry,” said Andy Hoggarth, chief business development officer atTeledyne CARIS.

HIPS Essential maintains the robust nature you have come to expect from CARIS products and is easily expandable to meet the growing needs of an organisation or company. It is offered at a cost-effective price with lease-to-own options.
