Explorer DVLs for LAUV System

Explorer Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs). They have been successfully integrated on OceanScan-MST’s light autonomous underwater vehicle system (LAUV), which is an affordable and innovative one-man portable AUV that can be easily launched, operated and recovered with minimal setup.

Teledyne RD Instruments, USA, has supplied Portugal-based underwater vehicle systems designer and manufacturer OceanScan-MST with five DVLs.

The Explorer DVLs are used for navigation in combination with other modules installed on board the LAUV, and recently OceanScan-MST supplied the Lithuanian Navy with several LAUV systems.

Part of the latest generation of Teledyne RDI’s family of Doppler velocity logs, the Explorer DVL provides high quality navigation aboard small underwater platforms, such as OceanScan-MST’s LAUV.
