Oceans cover almost three-quarters of the surface of the Earth and nearly half of the world’s marine waters are over 3,000 metres deep. The deep ocean holds many mysteries that researchers have only just begun to recognise. The new technologies and tools being developed and published have provided scientists with new ways to explore areas of the deep ocean never before accessed. For example, Malaysia has a total coastline of about 4,675km, and 13 of its 14 states have a coastline. Yet most of Malaysia’s oceans remain unexplored, with many unknown facts waiting to be discovered.<P>

This is whereGeoHydrOcean Services (GHOS) steps in. We explore the depth of the oceans in the quest to discover new scientific facts.

GHOS was established in 2005 by a group of surveyors each with 8 to 20 years of experience in surveying and oceanography. We specialise in all kinds of general and scientific research, with a particular focus on the marine and fresh water environment.

Our main mission is to create an awareness of the importance of oceanography in Malaysia, which has moved us to pioneer several pilot projects with our local government agencies and local research institutions.

Having worked in this field, our technical team has operated a multitude of instruments from various manufacturers around the globe and, as part of our product and market philosophies, we would accept and invite any offer to run user-acceptance tests of equipment that is yet to penetrate the local or world market and give our feedback based on our experience.

Our commitment to customers and society in general will always be reflected through honest and responsible business dealings. Our competitors might offer products of the same quality as we do at the same or lower price, but we have always created a competitive edge for ourselves through quality of service, the presentation of the material and the attitude of our staff. Apart from the company’s core business, we also offer our clients training courses to share with them the latest information and methodology in the respective fields.

Market View
The Asian market is vast but most of the time it is controlled by a sole distributor. We believe that global trends should not only be limited to this group, as new ideas and young entrepreneurs are emerging fast. Our message to all manufacturers around the world is to not be afraid of appointing various representatives in one country, as competition is fun and not a comfort zone. Do not solely depend on your distributor to push for sales, because if the instruments are really good they will sell themselves.

Future Expectations
In the near future, we are looking forward to a trend for a less restricted global market that would help us in introducing more world-class instruments to our country. For more information, please feel free to visit us at the website.
