'IFHS News' Publishes 3rd Issue

The latest issue of the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies subscription-free electronic publication IFHS News is now available to download or read online. Through abstracts to full technical articles, presentations and dissertation theses, this third edition of the 8-page publication summarises some of the hydrography and research being undertaken in the numerous countries and regions of the world represented by the Federation's nine member societies. Each abstract in a single issue of IFHS News has been submitted by a different member society and also contains a link enabling the reader to view or download the accompanying article or presentation.

In addition, IFHS News also reviews recent activities and news from the various member societies and includes reports and previews of Hydro conferences and other announcements from IFHS.

Representing a collective worldwide individual and corporate membership drawn from over 70 countries, the International Federation of Hydrographic Societies maintains close working links with other major world survey authorities including the inter-governmental International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) and the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG). It operates the prestigious IFHS Student Award Scheme which annually recognises both the best student dissertation paper and the best student presentation at its Hydro conference.  Forthcoming activities include Hydro17, the Federation's 25th annual 3-day international conference and exhibition, which takes place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, from 14-16 November 2017.

IFHS News No. 4 is due to be published towards the end of 2017.
