New Inductees to Hydrography Hall of Fame at US Hydro

Three renowned people in hydrography were inducted to the Hall of Fame during the opening session of US Hydro 2017 in Galveston, Texas, USA. The inductees to the Hall of Fame are Dr David Wells of University of New Brunswick, Jerry Mills from NOAA and Dr Larry Mayer of University of New Hampshire. All three have been active in hydrography, sometimes on the edge, sometimes in the very heart of it, responsible for training generations of hydrographers in the US and outside, said Pat Sanders, chairman of the committee.

The biannual conference, organised by The Hydrographic Society of America, opened Tuesday 21 March 2017 and will close on Thursday 23 March. US Hydro 2017 consists of technical presentations, workshops and an exhibition. This years conference sees a near-record attendance, despite low expectations a few months ago, according to THSOA president Brian Busey.
