The provision of high-quality marine survey data is the first step in the development of any offshore or nearshore project. A good understanding of the geophysical, geotechnical, hydrographical and oceanographic conditions of the marine site, provides a good basis for the engineering designs. Especially, Turkish offshore oil & gas projects have a project cycle of exploration, field development, production and decommissioning. Derinsu provides data acquisition, processing and interpretation services required for the exploration cycle. Derinsu has experience with deepwater work class ROV operations with all the required sonar and survey systems installed on it. In particular, deep water salvage and rescue operations, pipeline surveys, and cable surveys services can be carried out by ROVs located in Turkey. ROV spread can be used on DP equivalent Turkish Flag Offshore Supply Vessel chartered by Derinsu.

All marine environmental surveys, oceanographic surveys, hydrography for offshore and nearshore, port and harbour development projects are carried out by our own survey vessel RV Beluga, which is the first and only private scientific survey vessel in Turkey.

Lately, an important project covered by RV Beluga was Dardanelles’ (Canakkale-Turkey) Campaign Ship Wrecks 3D sonar survey project. By using high-resolution multi-beam echo sounders, well-calibrated motion sensors and the DGPS system available on RV Beluga, 3D data output was taken from the shipwreck of Dardanelles that sunk sometime in the last 100 years. Strategically, this was a very important project since all the shipwrecks were found and recorded with multi-beam technology for the first time and images were taken in 3D.

The offshore survey market has been developing rapidly in Turkey. Derinsu has continued investment plans for new technology survey equipment and new Offshore Survey Vessels for customers. Due to regulations in Turkey, Turkish flag survey vessels have some advantages in getting work permits in Turkish waters.
